Review Policy

What we review
Solar panels, batteries, inverters, EV chargers, heat pumps, and related home energy hardware — chosen by market relevance (units actually installed in U.S. homes), not by which brands offer the best affiliate terms.
How we rate
Ratings are built from manufacturer specifications, third-party certification data (UL listing, Energy Star, warranty terms), and, where available, field data from our technical reviewers' installation experience. We do not receive review units in exchange for a guaranteed positive rating, and no manufacturer sees a rating before publication.
Rating categories
Each review scores a product across categories relevant to that product type (e.g., for solar panels: efficiency, warranty, degradation rate, price per watt) rather than a single blended number, so you can weight what matters to your situation.
Affiliate relationships
Some reviews include affiliate links, disclosed inline at the top of the article and in our Affiliate Disclosure. The presence or absence of an affiliate relationship does not change the rating a product receives.
Updates
Reviews are revisited when a manufacturer releases a new model generation or changes pricing/warranty terms materially, with the "last updated" date reflecting the most recent check.
